Our Medical Services

When your pet is sick or injured we know you need answers fast.  At Kindness Animal Hospital we are equipped with the most up-to-date technology to diagnose your pet quickly and effectively.    We offer the following services:

Diagnostic Laboratory

Our diagnostic laboratory allows us get results in minutes.  We can perform blood chemistries, CBCs, electrolytes, thyroid levels, urinalysis, tests for feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virus, heartworm disease, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, cytology, and fecal analysis.  For more advanced testing we have twice daily FedEx pickups for a larger laboratory.

Digital Radiology

Radiographs, or x-rays, can help us detect bone and joint injuries, foreign objects, obstructions, enlarged organs, pneumonia, tumors and many other conditions.  Digital radiography allows us to obtain higher quality diagnostic images than traditional x-ray units.  They are also much quicker and greatly decrease the amount of radiation exposure.  Because the images are digital, they can be immediately transmitted to a radiologist for interpretation if necessary.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a painless and non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that allows us to see inside the heart, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, intestines and other organs.  Most pets can remain awake for the procedure but sometimes we need to administer light sedation if they are being squirmy.  The images and videos we take are sent digitally to a board-certified radiologist for consultation.  We get results the same day or the next day.

ECG

An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a measurement of the electrical impulses in the heart.  We not only monitor your pet’s ECG while they have a surgical procedure, but we can also diagnose certain heart diseases this way.

Blood Pressure

Hypertension can be present and causing multiple organ damage without any outward signs.  Regular blood pressure screenings can detect this silent killer and allow us to treat before it causes irreversible damage.

Tonometry

Glaucoma is another disease where early detection is key.  If caught early, it can be treated.  Left untreated it causes blindness.  Our tonometer is painless and well-tolerated by our patients.
